Effective e-learning solutionsOur approach

We believe that e-learning should:

  • present informative, relevant and appropriate information
  • be an interactive and engaging user experience
  • be visually appealing and exciting
  • allow users to bring their own experience to their learning where appropriate to motivate them to explore and make new discoveries
  • enable learners to practise and apply their new skills and knowledge within realistic contexts
  • enable learners to buy into the learning objectives and enable them to keep track of their progress
  • make the most effective use of the learners' time
  • save the organisation long-term costs

The KnowledgeWise development model

Needs Analysis – Using a range of appropriate methods we can assess your needs. This could involve face-to-face or telephone interviews with relevant staff, observing teams at work, conducting focus groups. We would present the result of our assessment to you with a range of potential ways in which the identified needs could be met.

Proposition development – Following agreement on the most appropriate way to move forward, we will develop a detailed proposition for developing the solution. This will usually include specifying objectives, methods of delivery and evaluation criteria, as well as outlining costs.

Programme design – At this stage we put the flesh on the bones of the programme that delivers the agreed solution. This will include specifying the instructional design, 'look and feel', content details, delivery and evaluation methods.

Project planning – After discussion with and agreement on the proposition and design, we will draw up a detailed project plan with appropriate milestones for delivering the solution.

Programme development – This is a period of intense activity: realising the design – in print, on screen or face-to-face – and scripting, editing and proofing the written the elements of the programme.

Implementation – Depending on the programme, this might involve face-to-face sessions, launching an interactive programme on the internet, distributing workbooks, or a combination of these and other methods.

Evaluation – We will produce a detailed evaluation of the outcomes of the project and any suggested future requirements.

Follow-up – We do not espouse the 'cut and run' philosophy. We would like to stay around to help ensure the positive outcomes from the programme become embedded into your organisation.
