Who we are

We are a team of experienced and successful creators, designers and editors of learning materials, instructional texts, technical manuals and internet communications. We produce work in both print and electronic formats.

Our experience encompasses research, instructional, learning and game design, content development, writing, editing, proofing, web design, and more.

Over the past twelve years we have worked for a broad range of clients on widely varied subject matter.

We have developed communications and training materials covering:

The Team

Principal members of our networked team include:

Hugh Garai

Hugh is a skilled and respected instructional designer, content author, developer and editor of e-learning and open learning materials across a wide range of fields including technical and 'soft-skills' areas. Highly self-motivated and successful in seeing tasks through to their completion, he works effectively both in teams and solo. In the last 20 years Hugh has worked as an instructional designer and project manager on many large projects for a range of clients including blue-chip commercial organisations as well as a number of professional institutes involved with the design, development and publication of qualification materials for their students.

Hugh is the author of the Gower Management Handbook Managing Information and has written a number of journal articles on a variety of subjects.

David King

David is an experienced writer of training materials. He also is experienced in writing and editing publicity materials, product information, internal communications, manuals and handbooks, newsletters and communiqués. Previously David worked in education as a teacher and researcher. He now spends much of his time on website design and creation.

David Mattock

With extensive and varied experience in education and industry as teacher, researcher, trainer and manager, David now works as a freelance training and communications consultant. Some of his recent projects include: writing and editing e-learning programmes for a Japanese car manufacturer in Europe; re-developing a sales management training programme and delivering train-the-trainer sessions for that programme, starting in Korea; developing modules on business and marketing planning as part of a business leadership programme; and designing and editing a 'pocket guide' on the meaning and operational significance of dealership Key Performance Indicators for a major motor manufacturer.

Mike Morrison

Mike is an experienced, adaptable organisational development and training specialist with a consistent record of success in industrial, IT, FMCG, aerospace, construction, voluntary and commercial market sectors. He is financially astute and commercially aware with project and programme management skills. Mike is a strong leader skilled in full project life-cycle management, organisational development, coaching and mentoring, change management, process re-engineering, strategic planning, quality, health and safety, team building, financial, cost control, business efficiency and profitability initiatives.

Charles Huff

Charles makes interactive programmes, often based around Flash programming and frequently incorporating video especially shot for the programme. Having worked in the pharmaceutical, financial and education sectors, Charles has made programmes that cover a wide range of content. He was for many years a staff producer and director for the BBC and has continued to work for both the BBC and ITV on a freelance basis.

Janene Spencer

Janene is a graphic designer with very wide experience in the advertising, marketing and publishing industries.

Her design skills are diverse and cover a multitude of styles and formats. This undoubtedly helps to keep Janene on her toes and means she approaches each brief with a renewed passion for an original and creative design solution each and every time.

Janene can design all or part of your project from the planting of an inspirational seed in the form of a concept, creation of a logo to pre-pressed digital artwork or the design and upload of your web site.

Barnaby Shearer

Barnaby is an information technology developer. Experienced in recommending and adapting a wide range of systems to support the development and delivery of learning.
